glory of God revisited from May 9 (forestphilosopher)

The "Glory" of God is one of those buzzwords it seems we
never define. A picture of power or "radiance" or "majesty"
or something like that, usually comes to mind; maybe
like the blast of Nagasaki or Hiroshima?
I'm sorry, maybe I'm a little "simple" minded but we have
certainly gone out of our way to complicate- not only life-
but the Christian faith. For example, I read that Jesus is
the "express image" of God, the "fullness" of God and that
God is "glorified" in him. Then I read that God wants us to
be "glorified" (Ro.8:29). It sounds so much like "personal",
like "family", like love. Eternal awe sounds wonderful beyond
description; and to all be together again! I guess the old
gospel song (trite as it may seem) was on to something: "Oh,
that will be glory for me....". Whatever God's "Glory" is,
it's obviously something he wants to share! God is good- in
a way we can understand! As a young man I aspired to be a
a professional heavy-weight boxer; yes, a "pug". I mention
that so when I speak of "love" it's not as an airy-fairy
sentimentalist.
