There's one question that is neglected with the most deliterious
(so glad I got to use that word today!) results. How are you
supposed to treat (discipline) your children? In other words,
when I speak of God's wrath, forgiveness, etc. I allow myself a
little common sense. Let me forestall the objections- and in the
back of my head, I hear them already. First, again, if I'm on
the operating table awaiting delicate brain surgery (what other
kind?) and a dozen people come in and offer their opinions, I
guarantee you, I don't want to hear it. Only the surgeon's
opinion matters. Now, a lot of people will say, that's why they
only go by the Bible. Uh,uh, if they knew the Bible- and all the
"clever" people who have said the same thing- they'd yell, "Is
there a doctor in the house?" I've spent my whole life studying
and teaching the Bible, and so with a little common sense, I am
only now comfortable to challenge the conclusions of all the
fancy assumptions and theologies. The early church, Orthodoxy,
recognized God's love for his creation. That's "my" starting
point; it's important for you to know that. "Behold, it is very
good!"and "God so loved the world...." (Nowhere in that verse does
it say he loved "part" of it!) No, his power (wrath) will restore it.
Satan's days are numbered; his "leash" is short. Punishment,
discipline, of course! Abuse, never. "Neither do I condemn you; go
and sin no more."Jn.8:10. My regard (love) for my God is exploding!
