don't panic

Granted: easier said than done. However, here's a truth
we need to remember. Carolyn Arends' article, "Grace of
Wrath" (in Christianity Today) stirred up some intriguing
comments. The confusion over God, evil, sin, and "wrath",
was a bit more than palpabable. The frustration came
through vividly. I can't overly urge, reading Middelmann's
book, "The Innocence Of God". We puzzle over these
questions of good/evil and the will of God, as though,
somehow, God wills and is responsible for our sufferings
and problems. We search for reasons and meanings in evil.
There isn't any. Evil is to be resisted and overcome! -
not "understood"! Read my blog (lips?): this is a FALLEN
world. That's all you need to know about evil. God will
deal with it in his way, in his time. In the meantime,
don't panic. The disciples were once in a storm, rowing for
their lives. They were more than a little upset that Christ
was asleep. "Lord, don't you care that we're perishing?"
He arose and calmed the storm. I wonder, did he then resume
his nap? Even while napping, he neither slumbers nor sleeps.
(Ps.121:4)
