on open-endedness

In the last post we used the expression "open-ended."
A dog- I believe it's safe to say- never entertains
the thought about what it doesn't know. It's a dog. If
you're not so sure, please watch The Dog Whisperer
a few times. Not only does it not think about what it
doesn't know, it doesn't even know that it doesn't know.
However, you and I may be overwhelmed/blown-away by the
very thought. I've never read about, let alone, seen a
dog "blown-away" by metaphysical concerns. A human being
is astonished at what he doesn't and CAN'T know. But
that only suggests his potential. As I said, for us,it's
open-ended.
